Investigation of coefficient of friction at the interface of automobile brake pads using Greenwood-Williamson contact model and novel test rig

چکیده
Different brake pad materials are produced, each with their unique composition in the recent past, yet performing same task and claiming to be better than others. The article provides references for different automotive pads subjected various operating conditions. present investigation develops an analytical approach estimating COF contact radius disc-brake pads, which can used design efficient pad-disc system under given load rotational speed. coefficient of friction at interface is investigated considering Greenwood Williamson (GW) model developed novel test rig. A MATLAB program along FFT was simulate surface topography during braking process aiding estimation radius. Surface tested has been analyzed using infinite-focus-microscope verify At last, reference verified by experimental a rig parameters.
